You never know…

You never really know what a person’s true opinion and heart view on something will be until you challenge it.

I knew this, but it was put before me very clearly when a situation presented itself on fb the other day.  I re-posted a (what some might view as a controversial)  video clip about a certain vampire book and movie saga.  The feedback I received from it both surprised and saddened me. Surprised and saddened to hear from some of MY own friends…not just the fb type of mere acquaintances…what their opinion was on the matter.

You have to understand. I am not the confrontational type. I pretty much despise the “get up on your soapbox and post forty million comments trying to defend your point on fb” kind of arguments. I avoid them as I avoid hummus. Human fleas. Or horseradish. But I know what I believe and I won’t be bullied into silence or made to doubt exactly what I believe. So I said my piece…which was ONE comment. And let it lay. You can’t reach people when they have shut down to only their own voice and have a wall of defense up. Hammering on and oooon and brow-beating your point will only make them clam up more. Ultimately it’s between them, their heart, and their conscience.

My thoughts for today. They are a little fuzzy due to lack of sleep. Thanks for listening.

Raindrops and and My Thoughts…

I was never quite sure this day would come. I’m a little bit of a procrastinator, you see. People would tell me I should get a blog. I kept telling mySELF, “Yeah yeah, I should get a blog….”.  And then I’d put it off again. But 2012 is here! And so here we are. Or here I am.

I have no idea what I’ll be writing about. Life. My everyday adventures in my head and thoughts. Who knows…a year from now, maybe I’ll look back on this particular post and berate myself for how kfrhsietrhthse it is. No…that wasn’t a cuss word. More like inexpressible words that I have no english word for. So. We shall endeavor on this journey to see what comes of it. 🙂

Just a word of warning. I am a completely romantical sap.
